"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14 A few weeks back I posted a model call looking for a family with older children. I received an email from a Mother stating that she had 2 sons ages 8 and 10 who were adopted from Haiti. I knew instantly that she was who I was looking for. Their session day arrived and I was so excited to meet this family that I had heard so much about from a mutual friend. I pulled up in their driveway and out came 8 year old Jesse, in the rain just to see if I needed help with anything. When I first met Jodi and her husband Dave I was so excited to hear about their journey. It was such a beautiful story of Hope, Love and Faith. I loved every single second with this family. So much that before I knew it I was there for 3 HOURS. Before leaving for the day Jodi and I talked, with Jesse on her back the whole time, about Life, Love and God. I felt so safe with her family that I opened up a little about some recent personal struggles and after we talked for some time I ended up having to leave in a hurry because I was so moved by what had just taken place. See, I went there to do something for them and in turn I had no idea how much I would recieve. For the next few days I just prayed and asked Jesus for clarity as to what meeting this family meant. I still dont know if I fully understand His intentions with placing them into my life but I have faith that it was not on accident. They showed me what love is. True, unconditional love. No judgement. No boundries. Just love. They showed me that through the struggles, to always have Hope. Without Hope, what is left? So I would love to leave you with this, don't judge, dont place boundries on your relationships and just love, unconditionally. Have Hope, even in the unknown. Trust, trust His timing and know that things will be okay and one day you'll look back and know why it all worked out the way it did. Just in the 3 hours I spent with this family I took all of this away. Spend time with people that you normally wouldn't, ask questions, step out of your comfort zone, challege yourself, be the best version of yourself. Always, always love everyone, always.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
