Capturing Haley's Smiles
I have received many emails from clients and fans asking if I was going to be doing my annual session giveaway, Bella Giving. The answer is YES!! I am, but I did already select the recipient. AND I proudly changed the name of my giveaway to CAPTURING HALEY'S SMILES. For those of you who do not know Haley or her beautiful Momma Misty I would love to tell you a little about them. Haley was a beautiful, fun, smart, sassy and full of life 19 year old girl who had her whole life ahead of her. Sadly, Haley was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and lost her courageous battle on January 15, 2015. She was the recipient of my first Bella Giving photo session and I instantly fell in love with her and her Mom, Misty. I had no idea that one short month after our session she would pass away. I thought about her family every second. Misty started a foundation in her daughters name called Heroes Like Haley and with that the first Heroes Like Haley 5K took place. Which also happened to be my first run of any kind. It was an amazing day to say the least. I have heard of Kale Brenner before from a great friend Courtney but hadn't had the chance to meet him. I saw him at the race and instantly filled with emotion. He made me run my little heart out. Hey, I even placed pretty good too. After the race I reached out to Misty asking her if I could rename my giveaway in Haley's name and she agreed and even helped me come up with "Capturing Haley's Smiles." I reached out to Kale's family and I am so blessed they accepted this gift. Kale is such a strong and amazing little boy. On March 3, 2014 baby Kale was diagnosied with Astrocytoma, Optic Pathway Glioma. Non medical terms, brain cancer. At just 6 months old this sweet, happy boy was diagnosed with brian cancer. It just isn't fair. With that, I will say that this is one of the happiest, sweetest most loving families that I have met. With each one of these sessions that I do whether it be for a child with cancer, for a fallen soldier, an ill parent or just a family who is having a hardship I learn something and I take something away but there is one message that is the same from each. It is to count your blessings, love your family, hug them each day and be gratful for each day. I am blessed beyond measure and am so thankful for the blessings in my life. Thank you, thank you to each and every family that has trusted me enough to let me be your photographer, for letting me into your life for even just a monent. I love each and every one of you and I am so grateful. Happy New Year and have a blessed and safe holiday!
